BRICK, NJ-The very difficult decision of choosing a nursing home facility for a loved one often involves various family members. That’s exactly why family surveys are such an important tool for evaluating the quality of the care and the staff at nursing facilities. And Shorrock Gardens Care Center is proud to share the results of their most recent family satisfaction survey.

Families were asked a series of questions that could be answered in only one of four ways: 1. Excellent; 2. Good; 3. Fair; and 4. Poor.

An astounding 97% of the families rated the respectfulness of the staff at Shorrock Gardens Care Center as excellent or good. “Obviously, our clinical and care standards are extremely high here at Shorrock. However respect for both residents and families from every member of our staff is equally important,” says Wendy Metzger, Administrator at Shorrock. “We understand just how difficult the experience can be for residents and families and we do everything in our power to make it pleasant.”

When questioned on the care and concern of the staff at Shorrock, 94% of the families surveyed again responded with a rating of excellent or good. In evaluating the competency of the Shorrock staff, an impressive 91% answered excellent or good. “We’re extremely proud of our staff,” continues Metzger, “both in the outstanding level of care they provide and in the manner in which they treat the patients. It’s crucial for family members to know that their loved one is not only receiving high quality care, but that they’re being treated with respect and dignity.”

In terms of overall satisfaction, 90% of families praised their experience with Shorrock Gardens as excellent or good. The combination of high ratings in the family satisfaction survey places Shorrock among the most highly regarded facilities of its kind. Past surveys confirm the exceptional level of care: After a state-mandated (but unannounced) on-site inspection over the course of five days, not a single deficiency was noted during a previous evaluation-a rating achieved by less than ten percent of skilled nursing facilities nationwide. The inspection at Shorrock involved meticulous inspection of all departments, along with observations and interviews with residents, families, staff and administrators.
