Arbors Care Center salutes veterans with ceremony and festivities.
TOMS RIVER, NJ-In observance of Veterans Day, a special presentation ceremony and celebration was held at Arbors Care Center, in Toms River, a center providing skilled nursing and therapy services for geriatric residents in the greater Toms River Community.
The event honored approximately 50 veterans-representatives of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps-currently residing at Arbors Care Center and its sister facilities-The Haven at Silverwoods assisted living residence and Silverwoods senior apartment rentals. As John Amory, Administrator at Arbors Care Center, presided over the ceremony, staff presented each of the veterans with a commemorative certificate, copies of special poems written for the occasion and American flag pins. Local entertainer Gary Evans provided live patriotic music throughout the festivities. As a special surprise, an officer from the U.S. Naval Base in Lakehurst addressed the audience, thanking the veterans for their courageous service to the nation and reminding them of the important role they each played in protecting the “land of the free and the home of the brave.”
All in attendance-the veterans, their families, residents and administrators of the various Hovnanian Care Centers-enjoyed refreshments as the music continued. Mr. Amory, points out, “It’s very important to recognize the contributions of all veterans, particularly our residents who are a living part of history. Their acts have helped pave the way for the future of our nation and they are fully deserving of our honor and gratitude.”
