The open floor plan allows our Alzheimer’s and Memory Care residents to wander freely. There are no narrow hallways or doorways for them to pass through which can cause great confusion and panic. Staff in both facilities has extensive training on the care of Alzheimer’s patients, including dealing with combativeness, difficulty communicating, confusion and the many aspects and challenges of the disease.

What if my mom is in the early stages of dementia and doesn’t require nursing home care?

The Haven at Shorrock Gardens is an assisted living environment for persons in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. The Haven offers a less intense level of Alzheimer’s care with the same secure triangular setting and specially trained staff. Additionally, The Haven at Silverwoods has a specialized assisted living wing dedicated to residents with memory care needs.
